Elba Ansonica

DOC

White

Ansonica is an indigenous grape variety of the island of Elba, renowned for preserving the island’s unique mineral composition, enriched by minerals rarely found in other Italian soils. It embodies the archetype of Mediterranean viticulture in the Elban region. With a straw-yellow color, it’s a warm, smooth wine with a full body that fully expresses the island’s sunny character. The vinification process emphasizes its typical floral notes and flavors of dried fruits, especially almonds. Ansonica pairs perfectly with flavorful seafood dishes, such as shellfish, fish soups, and sburrita (a traditional salt cod dish). It’s best served in large glasses at a temperature of around 8-10°C.
