Centuries of history and a constant search between the past and contemporary have led to our current business and production philosophy based on tradition and quality.
All work is carried out with passion and commitment to ultimately pursue the production of wines that preserve the typical characteristics of the grapes and the territory.
The steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation occurs and the oak tonneaux are housed in the ancient winery built in the 1700s; here, the thick stone walls, vaulted ceiling, and old sandstone floor maintain a cool environment ideal for wine fermentation and storage.
Over the years, Tenuta La Chiusa has received excellent reviews for its produced wines, also winning awards in the industry.

Since the late 1500s, the vineyards of the estate have extended across the Magazzini plain with an east-west exposure. They overlook the gulf of Portoferraio and come close to the sea.
Currently, there are 12 hectares cultivated with vineyards, primarily featuring the native grape varieties of the Island of Elba: Vermentino, Ansonica, Trebbiano, Sangiovese, and Aleatico.
The surrounding wall protects the vineyards from winter storms, while the microclimate created by the sea and the soil rich in clay and iron establishes a unique and distinctive territory.
The olive tree deserves special mention, as approximately 3 hectares are dedicated to this cultivation on the estate. Although perhaps less famous than the vineyards, it is certainly equally valuable. The varieties cultivated include Leccino, Frantoiano, Pendolino, and Moraiolo, from which a Tuscan IGP extra virgin olive oil is produced.
During the spring and summer seasons, the estate is open to the public from Monday to Saturday. We look forward to welcoming you both in the morning and afternoon to learn about our company, make purchases, and taste our products (hours and costs vary based on the season; you can contact us directly or check our always-updated Google profile). Tours of the winery and vineyard, followed by a tasting of some wines paired with small culinary preparations, are available only in the summer by reservation.
We also host organized groups for guided tours, during which you can discover the history of the estate and taste the main products of the company. The minimum number of participants is 12, with a maximum of 50 (we recommend contacting us directly for more details).
The enchantment of nature and the allure of history just steps from the sea. All the essence of the island captured in the embrace of countryside and sea: at La Chiusa, we leave behind the more touristy and bustling side of Elba to immerse ourselves in an atmosphere from another time.
